Sharon "Shae" Seifert
Sharon Seifert, a life-long resident of Massachusetts, is a wife, a mother of five, a social worker, and a community leader. Having received a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Eastern Nazarene College, she has dedicated the last twenty-eight years to working with youth in roles ranging from counselor, to protective case worker, to youth group leader, to prevention specialist. One of her greatest accomplishments was the development and implementation of a highly successful teen girl's retreat program focusing on relevant topics such as self-esteem, peer-pressure, and self-image. She has also worked as the Programs Director of a non-profit agency where they did alcohol, drug, tobacco, and violence prevention with teens. Sharon also volunteers her time facilitating a weekly support group for women that have been sexually abused and she is a high school youth leader, at her church.
Sharon started To Be the One after being inspired by a television program showcasing teens from all different walks of life and the problems that all high schools face. Since starting To Be the One, Bully Prevention and Suicide Prevention have become some of the main focuses as it seems to be the most prevalent topics facing today's youth. She is humbled that youth will be so honest to share with her their struggles and their triumphs. She wants everyone To Be the One to make a difference, To Be the One to change the world around them.
To make a difference. To change the world around you.
